Junior welterweights, Eddie Ramirez, 15-0-(10) won a clash of the unbeaten fighters at the Robinson Rancheria Resort & Casino in Nice, California on Tuesdayby knocking out Kevin Watts, 11-1-(4) , in the sevnth round.
However, it was not all plain sailing for Ramirez, who was knocked down in the seconds round. Watts decked Ramirez with an uppercut in round two, but Ramirez recovered and continued to get stronger as the fight progressed. The end came when Ramirez unleashed a series of punches to send Watts to the canvas for the full count after 1:37.
On the undercard super middleweight Marcos “The Madman” Hernandez out-pointed Antonio Urista over eight rounds. The scores were 80-71 twice and 79-72. Urista was deducted a point in round five
In other action featherweight prospect Leduan Barthelemy went to 11-0-(6), by scoring a an eight round split points win over Ricardo Nunez. The scores were 77-75, 77-75 for Barthlemy and 79-73 for Nunez.
