Reyes Decisions Roman In Ontario

By Reginald Murrell at ringside in Ontario, California: Juan Ramon Reyes scored an eight round points win over Daniel Roman in a super bantamweight bout over eight rounds at the Double Tree Hotel in Ontario, California on Friday night.


Super Featherweight 4 rounds

Erick Ituarte vs Robero Ventura

In the first bout of the night, Erick Ituarte (6-0-1, 1 ko) of Santa Ana, California won a workman like 4 rounder against Roberto Ventura (3-5, 1 ko) of Guadalajara Mexico. After the second round Ituearte began gaining confidence, landing straight rights and over hand rights at will. Ventura’s shots was ineffective to slow Ituarte attack. Ventura was on his heels from the opening bell. 40-36 Ituearte


Super Middleweights 6 rounds

Joshua Conley vs Juan Carlos Sanchez

In a battle of Super Middleweights between Joshua Conley (7-0-1-6 ko’s) and Carlos Sanchez (5-6-1-4 ko’s) was fought to an unpopular draw. Sanchez was the busier of the pair, with Conely landing the more telling shots. It was an entertaining fight with the winner being the fans. Draw

Israel Arellano vs Mario Hermosillo

Israel Arellano (7-1-5 ko’s) had little difficulty with Mario Hermosillo (12-11-3, 2 ko’s) ending Hermosillo’s night by TKO in the 2nd round. Round 1 the shorter Hermosillo aka Popeye was a very game fighter, but the body shouts by the bigger Arellano was too much for Popeye to take. TKO Round 2


Bantamweights-6 rounds

Carlos Carlson vs Guadulupe Barreras

In one of the most entertaining fights of the night Carlos Carlson (10-0,7 ko’s) stopped Guadulupe Barreras (6-2, 2 ko’s) at 1:41 in the 3rd with right hand body shots. For as long as it lasted Barreras was able to get up off the canvas each time to give as good as he got. In the 3rd Carlson caught Barreras with another body shot that made the Mexican go down stay down. KO Round 3


Super Bantamweights-8 rounds

Juan Ramon Reyes vs Daniel Roman

The co-main event was all action fight that was give and take from the opening bell. Juan Ramon Reyes (10-1-2, 1 ko) gave Daniel Roman (8-2-1, 3 ko’s) more than he received from Roman. Roman had the support of the crowd, but Reyes would not be denied. Roman had his best round in the 7th working Reyes to the body early in the round. In the 8th Roman switched to south paw and began to catch his coming forward opponent with sweeping left hands. While these were scoring blows and rallied the crowd, it was not enough to dissuade Reyes from continuing applying pressure and scoring with his shots. 77-75 Reyes.
