Rose Retains British Crown/Webb Announces Retirement

Brian Rose successfully retained his British light middleweight title against Sam Webb at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool on Friday night.


The 27 year-old local boxer controlled the Londoner by working off his left jab for most of the fight whilst occasionally hurting Webb with some well timed and accurate punches to the body. There were no knockdowns . The scores were 116-113 and 116-112 twice.


After the fight Sam Webb announced his retirement from boxing. The former British light middleweight champ finishes up with a record of 18 wins and three defeats.
