Ruenroeng And Takayama Retain Titles In Osaka

Amnat Ruenroeng, 13-0-(5), successfully retained his IBF flyweight title against the previously unbeaten Kazuto Ioka,14-1-(9), in Osaka, Japan on Wednesday.

Ruenroeng was judged the winner on all three judges cards by scores of 119-108, 115-113 and 113-114.

Ioka, the former WBC minimumweight and WBA light flyweight king, suffered his first defeat to Thailand born boxer.

Although the 34 year-old Amnat is nine years than Ioka he looked the sharper of the two and produced the better, sharper work from the opening bell.

On the same card Katsunari Takayama retained his IBF minimumweight title against Shin Ono,17-5-2, via 12 round unanimous decision. Ono was down in rounds 10 and 12. The scores were 117-109,115-111 and 115-111.
