Welterweight Francisco “Chia” Santana (24-4-1, 12 KOs) faced Ed Paredes (36-6-1, 24 KOs) on Saturday night at the Oceanview Pavillion in Port Hueneme, California.
Santana’s established his rythm early from roud one and he was relentless with his attack. Paredes tried to stay with him but it was evident who was the more suprior boxer. Santana completely dominated the fight from round one right through to the final round. And the three judges at ringside scored the bout 100-90 in favour of Santana.
On the under card Luis Ramos Jr (26-2, 10 KOs) faced 38-year-old former world champion Cristobal Cruz (40-20-4, 24 KOs).
Ramos and Cruz went toe to toe and neither fighter was about to give ground. Ramos dropped Cruz in round six and in round seven Ramos repayed the favour by flooring Cruz. After a all action packed fight the three judges at ringside scored the bout 78-72 in favour of Ramos.
2012 Olympic light heavyweight gold medalist Egor Mekhontsev (12-0,-9 KOs) faced Victor Barragan (12-10-1-3 KOs)
Egor did not waste anytime and olympic gold medalist floored Barragan twice in round two. Egor came out for round five with the same bad intentions he had in the second round and floored Barragan again. This time the refferee stepped in and stopped the fight which takes Egor’s record to 12-0-9 KOs
