Reyes "Rey" Sánchez challenges for the WBC will light welterweight Silver title in Mexico City on Saturday night when faces champion Roberto “Massa” Ortiz.
Ortiz vs Sanchez will be the main event of a card promoted by Cancun Boxing, Golden Boy Promotions and Boxing Time Promotions.
Sánchez (24-5-2, 14 KO’s), will be a tough test for Ortiz. Reyes is a very skilful fighter who is well used to fighting 12 hard rounds, although he also has significant power in his fists, as his record shows: 24 wins 14 KO’s, 5 losses and 2 draws.
Reyes arrives at this fight with single minded determination, after he was defeated in his last bout by Ricardo “Dinamita” Alvarez for the WBC Continental Americas title on July 6th.
“I’m ready to conquer his title. I’ve trained exceptionally hard for this fight and I’m absolutely determined to become the new WBC silver champion,” commented the “Rey.”
