David “Tornado” Sanchez, 22-2-1-(18), won a majority 12 round decision over Marlon Tapales, 21-2-(7), at the Gimnasio del Estado in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico on Saturday to claim the WBC Silver super flyweight title.
In the co-featured event, former world champ Giovanni “Guerrero Azteca” Segura improved his record to 29-2-(25), by scoring a ninth round stoppage win over Omar Salado, 23-6-2-(14). The bout was fought at super flyweight.
