After suffering the loss of his unbeaten record, former IBF champion Paul “The Pittsburgh Kid” Spadafora (48-1-1, 19 KOs) returns against veteran three-time world title challenger Hector Velazquez (56-21-3, 38 KOs) on Friday, July 11 at the Rivers Casino Amphitheater in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The 38-year-old “Pittsburgh Kid” is looking to get back in the title picture after a majority decision defeat for the WBA interim title against champion Johan Perez.
“Pittsburgh—this is your one opportunity to witness one of the best prizefighters ever from the Steel City, and first world champion since the original Pittsburgh Kid Billy Conn, in 1941,” said future Hall of Famer Roy Jones Jr., who is promoting the show in association with TNT Promotions. “Believe me, you won’t find a more picturesque venue in this country than Rivers Casino!”
Also on the fight card, billed as “Rivers Rumble 4,” is Youngstown, Ohio’s favorite Jake “The Bull” Giuriceo, Wheeling, Ronell Green and Antonio “Carita” Nieves.
