British heavyweight Michael Sprott proved he still has a bit of millage left in him in Nuremberg, Germany on Saturday night by out-pointing the previously unbeaten prospect Edmund Gerber over 10 rounds.
There were no knockdowns but Sprott busted up the 24 year-old German and eventually won a majority decision. The scores were 97-94, 97-94 for Sprott and 95-95.
Sprott, 37-19, will now challenge Robert Helenius for the European heavyweight title. Gerber falls to 22-1.
