Canning Town’s Wadi Camacho claimed the 30th Prizefighter championship with a second round knockout of former foe Harri Miles and collected £34,000 for his efforts.
The knockout came at 1-47 after a left to the body dropped Miles on all fours and in the follow up attack a clubbing left to the head finished the job.
Miles (14st 4lbs), who had less time to recover from his semi-final, started the final brightly as Camacho (14st 5lbs) was forced onto the back foot. A straight left towards the end of the round from Camacho got Miles’ attention but it wasn’t enough to take the round.
Camacho began to put his punches together in round two then a nicely placed left to the body sent Miles to the canvas as he grimaced in pain. Miles just about beat the count of referee Howard Foster but was down again soon after by a clubbing left to the head and this time he sat out the count as he had nothing left in the tank.
