Former world champion Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam, 37-3-(21), out-pointed Martin Murray, 37-5-1-(17), over 12 rounds at the MEN Arena in Manchester on Saturday night to claim the WBC Silver middleweight title.
Murray decked N’Dam in the fourth round but N’Dam pretty much outworked Murray to edge the rounds and win a majority verdict by scores of 117-112, 116-112 and 114-114.
At featherweight Irish prospect Michael Conlan improved to 10-0-(6),by securing a 98-92,97-92 and 97-92 points win over Jason Cunningham,24-6-(6). Conlan very nearly got the stoppage in the 10th round Cunningham showed great resilience to make to the final bell.
Liam Williams, 19-2-1-(14), impressed by stopping the previously unbeaten Mark Heffron, 21-1-(17), in the 10th round to claim the vacant British middleweight title. Heffron was down in the 10th before the fight was stopped after 1.55.
