Danny Garcia has relinquish his WBC junior welterweight title. Garcia’a weight situation forced his decision move up to 147lbs. However, Garcia had not ruled out a return to 140lbs at a later date.

The WBC has now mandated Victor Postol to face Lucas Matthysse for the vacant WBC junior welterweight title. Postol has been the division’s mandatory contender and had registered with the WBC a step aside agreement several times, all of which were complied with to his benefit, and since the Postol-Garcia fight will not happen, then Postol will fight Matthysse, who won the right after beating Ruslan Provodnikov.
