Despite losing his WBC light-heavyweight to Chad Dawson in Atlantic City last weekend 47 year old Bernard Hopkins has vowed to continue boxing.
Hopkins,52-6, lost his title via a 12 round majority decision but believes he still has the skills to continue challenging the champions at 175lbs.
"I fought hard Saturday night and feel the fight was closer than two of the scores reflected," said Hopkins. "Regardless of the result, I will continue my career and challenge any champion in my division.
"I might be older, but I don’t feel a decline in my skills or abilities in the ring. I love to fight and am still competing at a level where boxing cannot deny me the opportunity to succeed."
British promoter Frank Warren had hoped to match WBO light-heavyweight Nathan Cleverly with Hopkins but with a title it remains to be seen if that match can materialise.
