SecondsOut’s Team of writers put their reputations on the line once more this weekend to predict the outcome of the welterweight title clash between champion Manny Pacquiao vs Adrien Broner, who clash at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday.

See below who our writers think will win the big heavyweight clash

Pacquiao may be pushing 40 and whilst not in his prime, may still have too much left in the tank to deal with Broner. ‘Pacman’ still has a good engine and punches fast and hard enough in burst to hurt the American, who is often found wanting at the highest level. Broner talks a good game and is a world class operator but Pacquiao I feel will just be took quick and powerful for a game but outgunned Broner.

Even at 40, Pacquiao has more boxing talent than the self-destructive Broner.

He looked good knocking out Matthysee in his last fight, but Matthysee was only a shadow of his old self. It’s hard to know exactly what he has left. As for Broner, if he’s serious and shows up, he could give Pacquiao problems. He’s the younger man by 11 years, but Pacquiao is still faster. I see Pacquiao beating Broner to the punch, withstanding some nervous moments, and winning the fight by unanimous decision.

Broner always talks a great game , but in every big fight he comes up short. He has always had problems with someone who comes and throws a lot of punches. Pacquiao at 40 still throws punches in bunches, he stays in shape and has great stamina. I see Pac-Man being too fast and will have the power to hurt and drop Broner , I feel the speed being difference with Pacquiao darting in and out with combos eventually Broner will get caught , have no answers to stop Pacquiao offense, I see PAC halting Broner in the later rounds.

Pacquiao still has good foot and hand speed to move and score. Broner doesn’t crowd his opponents, so Manny should be able to keep things on his terms as long as he wants. Broner’s chin is solid and should carry him the distance. I see a comfortable decision for the aging legend and a lot of clowning and fouls from the aging idiot. Pacquiao UD.

While many thought the curtain had and should have closed on the Manny Pacquiao career after he was robbed vs Jeff Horn in Australia. However, when Pacquiao scored his first knockout vs Matthysse in 2018, he reminded many how explosive he could be. When the fight with Broner was signed, I felt that this was another showcase for Pacquiao to possibly entice Mayweather or another top welterweight into a huge PPV fight this Summer. After watching the Matthysse fight again, I realized that Pacquiao was very hittable due to fighting flat-footed the majority of the fight. I feel that Broner will be able to counter well and possibly score a flash knockdown early. However, the “post-Maidana” Broner is more worried about survival than daring to be great. He will allow Pacquiao to land enough flurries to get the pro-Pacquiao crowd on their feet..and the judges to place a 10 under his name on the score cards. Pacquiao 115-112.

Straight out of the shoot, I’m going with Manny. Is Manny past his prime? Indeed. Is he a glimpse of what he once was? Without a doubt. I have heard a lot of chatter about this fight, plenty of negative too. But I think Manny still has plenty of fight in him to beat Broner. To be honest, I’m not a Broner fan. I think Broner has wasted his career and doesn’t take it serious enough. Even as an aging fighter, Manny will have more speed and zip over Broner to pull off the win.

Pacquiao will have too much speed and be too busy for Broner. Broner will have his moments but will be too few and far in between Pacquiao attacks.Pacquiao UD12

****************************************************** "Manny Pacquiao seems to have a bit left in the tank right now. He will have to keep his hands busy against Adrien Broner or he could have problems if he gets sucked into a slower paced boxing match. I see him out working the Cinci native over the duration of a competitive bout somewhere in the 116-112 range." Pacquiao W Pts 12 Derek Gionta Pittsburgh, PA USA
