Former WBO flyweight champ and two-time Olympic gold medalist Zou Shiming is reportedly being treated at a hospital in Shanghai, China after losing sight in his left eye.
The South China Morning Post reported that the 36 year-old may have suffered a suspected detached retina on a flight from Beijing, where he attended the Laureus China Top Ten Sports Awards.
It is believed that Shiming has had a long history of eye problems. Shiming had also been pushing for a rematch against Sho Kimura, who defeated him back in July to land the title. It now looks as though any hope of a rematch will be shelved for the immediate future.
