In a battle of the southpaws, Khavasi Khasigov from Belarus emerged victorious against Puerto Rican Juan Lopez. Khasigov was always quicker to the punch resulting in a 27-19 win.
In the last bout of the morning session Thailand's Worapoj Petchkoom outclassed Korean Kim Won by racking up a 20 point lead in the third session to eventually win 29-9.
