Much like his middleweight rival Sergio Martinez, Gennady Golovkin has bloomed late as a boxer. At the age of 31 the Kazakhstan born boxer did not really come to prominence until he knocked out Milton Nunez to claim the WBA interim middleweight title in August 2010. Since then the undefeated puncher has quietly and efficiently gone about his business of defending the title eight times. Until now that is. The way in which he has dispatched his last three opponents so impressively with such ferocious two fisted power has earned him the right to a top 10 pound for pound rating. There is no argument that Golvkin has dynamite in both fists but he can box as welll which is another reason he debuts in the top 10.
