Jorge “Travieso” Arce, 64-7-2-(49), scored a eighth round win over Jorge Lacierva in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, Mexico on Saturday night when Lacierva pulled out with a shoulder injury.
Prior to the pull out Arce had all the trouble he could handle and was forced to the limit of his vast experience to get him through. Arce decked Lacierva in round four with a hook to the body but was deducted two points in round five.
The former champ also ended the fight with cuts over both eyes. The end came when Lacierva pulled out after complaining of an injured right shoulder.
On the undercard McJoe Arroyo (15-0, 7 KOs) scored an 11th round tko win over former world champion Hernan “Tyson” Marquez (38-5, 26 KOs). Arroyo floored Marquez four times before the fight was stopped. The bout was an IBF flyweight eliminator.
In a bantamweight bout Alejandro “Payasito” Hernandez (28-10, 15 KOs) scored a 12 round points win over Daniel “Bad Boy” Rosas to win the WBO interim bantamweight title.
Hernandez knocked Rosas down on his way to a 116-111, 114-113 and 117-110 win on all three judges cards.
