Lucian Bute made a successful return after losing his world title to Carl Froch when he out-pointed Denis Grachev over 12 rounds in a light-heavyweight bout Montreal, Canada on Saturday night.
The scores of 118-110, 116-112 and 115-113 won him the NABF light heavyweight title. The extra weight suited Bute, who finished strong strong finish to improve his record to 31-1,=(24)
Grachev suffered his first defeat dropping to 12-1-1-(8).
Bute never took any chances, instead chipped in with a few single shots thoughout but he opened up in the final round
On the same card, Allen Green stopped Renan St Juste at the end of the seventh round of what should have been a super-middleweight bout. Green, however weighed in more than a kilogram over the limit, Green was floored in the fourth round but fought back to force stoppage when St Juste’s right eye was swollen so badly he could not see.
