Castellanos edges Out Caballero


Robinson Castellanos (18-9, 11 KOs) scored a 12 round split decision over two-division world champion Celestino “Pelenchin” Caballero (36-5, 23 KOs) at the Roberto Duran Arena in Panama City, Panama on Saturday.

 

Castellanos scored a first round knockdown on his way to a 115-112, 114-113 win on two cards while the third made Caballero the victor 114-113. Castellanos retained his WBC silver featherweight.

 

On the undercard former world champion Luis “Nica” Concepcion (28-3, 21 KOs) scored a sixth round knockout win against Anuar Salas (13-2, 10 KOs) to claim the vacant WBC silver flyweight title. Concepcion floored Salas in round one, Salas came back to deck Nico in round three. Concepcion put Salas down three times in round six to end the fight after 2:36 of a dramatic fight.
