Castro Says Farewell To Fans At Luna Park


Argentine boxing legend Jorge ‘Locomotra’ Castro said farewell to boxing fans on Saturday night in an exhibition bout at the famous Luna Park Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

 

However, the 45 year-old did not face Hall of Famer Roberto Duran as previously advertised. Instead Castro,130-11-3-(90), fought 43-year-old Marcelo Dominguez (44-7-1, 24 KOs) and 39-year-old Omar Basile (59-8, 28 KOs) with Duran as the referee in an exhibition.

 

On the same card former world title challenger Javier Maciel scored a fifth round knockout win against Alejandro Falliga. Maciel floored Falliga twice in round five before the bout was called of

In an IBF female super flyweight bout, champion Deborah “The Gurisa” Dionicius, 14-0-(4), retained her title with a 10 round unanimous decision over Olga Julio, 15-15-1-(10). Dionicius decked Julio in rounds four and five before posting clear 99-88 twice and 100-88 win.
