Cleverly Outclasses McIntosh/Thaxton Defeated

Nathan Cleverly claimed the vacant British light-heavyweight title at the York Hall in Bethnal Green on Saturday night when he scored routine 7th round win against the previously unbeaten Danny McIntosh.

The unbeaten Welshman totally outclassed Mcintosh, knocking him down four times, twice in the second round, once in the third and again in seventh round. All the knockdown came by virtue of the right hand.

McIntosh was as brave as they come but Cleverly’s superior boxing skills and greater experience proved just too much for the Norwich based fighter. Referee Howard Foster stopped the fight after 1.30 of the seventh round to stop McIntosh from further punishment.

On the same Hennessy Sports promoted card former British and European lightweight champion Jon Thaxton’s career looks to be all but over after Essex journeyman Tom Glover out-pointed him over eight tough round rounds. Referee Ken Curtis scored the bout 77-76

In a heavyweight bout Tyson Fury faced yet another overmatched and overweight opponent in the shape of Aleksandra Selezens. Selezens may well of boasted an unbeaten record of 7-0 going in but was never going to test the Manchester prospect.

In a female attraction Big brother reject Angel McKenzie out-pointed Lana Cooper over four very poor rounds.
