James DeGale, (14-1, 9 KOs), scored a one-sided 12 round unanimous points win over Fulgencio Zuniga, (25-7-1, 22 KOs), to claim the vacant WBC Silver super middleweight title at the Hull Sports Arena in Hull, England on Saturday night.
DeGale floored Zuniga in round three and very nearly finished him off but Zuniga held on and eventually made it to the end of the 12 rounds. The scores were were 118-109 on all three judges cards.
On the undercard nbeaten super middleweight prospect Chris Eubank Jr moved to (9-0, 4 Kos) after scoring a second round stoppage win over Olegs Fedotovs, (15-10, 1 KOs). It was Eubank’s second fight in seven days. Last weekend he out-pointed Welshman Bradley Pryce over eight rounds.
super featherweight Kid Galahad took his unbeaten record to (13-0, 6 KOs), by outclassing and stopping Ivan Ruiz Morote, (15-2, 7 KOs). The bout was stopped in round four after Galahad had flored Morote with a right hand to the head. The time of stoppage was 2.50.
