Japanese boxer Koki Eto, 14-2-1-(10), claimed the WBA interim flyweight title defeating champion Kompayak Porpramook, 50-5-(35), from Thailand over 12 rounds in Bangkok, Thailand on Thursday.
Eto made a fast start, knocking the champion down early but the referee ruled it a slip. From then on the fight became close hard fought battle with Eto electing to stand and fight instead of using his obvious height and reach advantage.
Eto finally got his knockdown in the 12th and final round to edge a very close and thrilling battle.
The scores were 114-113 twice and 116-111 for Eto
