featherweight contender Miguel Angel “Mikey” Garcia scored a second round knockout victory over former world champ Mauricio Pastrana at Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico on Saturday..
A right hand finished off Pastrana after 1:05 of the second round.
WBO mandatory Garcia improved his unbeaten record to 29-0-(21), veteran Pastrana drops to 35-17-2-(23).
In the co main event, Rogelio Medina, 29-2-(23), claimed the WBC super middleweight title after opponent Luis David “Animal” Serrano, 16-2-(13), failed to answer the bell for round six. The win was all the more satisfying for Medina as he was decked rounds one and two.
In a featherweight bout unbeaten featherweight Adrian “Chinito” Young , 17-0-1-(15), won a eight round unanimous decision win over Raul Hirales, 16-1-(8). The scores were 77-74, 78-73, and 77-75. Hirales was also floored in the bout.
