Australian Danny “The Green Machine” Green (33-5, 28 KOs) out-pointed Shane Cameron (29-3, 22 KOs) over 12 rounds to claim the vacant IBO cruiserweight title at the Hisense Arena in Melbourne, Australia on Wednesday(Nov 21).
Green made a fast start to the bout much to the surprise of the bigger man. Cameron was cut in the seconds round while Green announced afterwards that he may have damaged a rib in the opening round.
Green’s speed and movement allowed him to stay one step ahead throughout the fight, though Cameron did manage to hurt Green with a number of single shots but the new champion managed to stick to his boxing and run out a 119-109, 116-112 and 116-113 on all three judges cards.
