By Derek Gionta, ringside: Maurice "Mighty Mo" Hooker, 21-0-3 (16), of Dallas Texas and Darleys Perez, 33-2-2 (21), of Colombia fought to a ten round draw on the HBO Pay-Per-View Co-Feature bout of the Sergey Kovalev-Andre Ward light heavyweight unification bout at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Maurice Hooker promised a knockout at the weigh-in on Friday afternoon at the MGM Grand Casino. It seems that every time a knockout is predicted by one or both of the fighters, we often times get disappointing, lackluster fights.

This fight was a lot more dull than many expected. There were a number of nip and tuck rounds and both fighters put forth a game effort.

The styles may not have been made-for-TV but each should find themselves in a fight to redeem the outcome on this night some time down the road.

Maurice Hooker holds on to his NABO junior welterweight belt.
