Hyland and Chinella battle it out in Italy

Ireland’s Paul Hyland out-pointed Daivd Chianella over 12 round Napoli, Campania, Italy to win the vacant EBU-EU super bantamweight title on Friday night.
Speaking after the fight a delighted Hyland said: "“I’m thrilled to have won.
“This is a great step not just for me personally but for my family as well. It’s not easy to come to a place like Naples and bring home the title but it’s a team effort and I felt I deserved it.
“David was a hard, tough and wily opponent but I felt the secret tonight was my training and build-up to this fight.
“My management team at Cobra brought in top class sparring partners like Ricky Burns who is about to fight for the world title, Commonwealth holder John Simpson and Crumlin’s Stephen Ormond.
“They don’t come tougher than those guys. They worked me really hard in camp in the build-up to the fight and that really paid off in Naples.
“I’m thrilled to be bringing home this title. To go to Naples and win proves to me that I can fight anywhere in the world now and get a result.
At the end of 12 round all three judges made Hyland the winner by scores of 117-111, and 116-112.
