Ioka Retains Minimumweight title


WBC minimumweight champ Kazuto Ioka, 9-0-(6), retained his title and unbeaten record by thumping Thai challenger and WBC youth champ Yodgoen Tor Chalermchai, 8-1-(4), into submission in Osaka,Japan on Saturday

The bout was officially called off after 1.38 of the opening round. Ioka’s left hook followed by a solid combinations floored the challenger. Referee Bruce McTavish immediately stopped the bout and called for a stretcher.
