Ava Knight won the WBC Diamond belt, after scoring a unanimous decision over Mexico’s Mariana Juarez in a stellar battle at Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City.
"Barbie" Juarez and "The Lady of Boxing" Knight staged a contest that met the expectations that had been generated and kept the crowd either on the edge of their seats or on their feet throughout.
Juarez was overtaken by the speed and accuracy of the American. "Barbie" Juarez had rounds of success in which she shook the head of her opponent, but she wasn’t able to resolve the nagging left jab of Knight.
The scores were: two 97-93 and one of 96-94, all in favor of the new owner of the WBC Diamond Belt- Ava Knight.
