After losing his unbeaten record and suffering back to back defeats middleweight puncher David Lemieux finally got his career back on track with a second round knockout win over Jaudiel Zepeda on Friday night.
Lemieux, 26-2-(25), had previously been stopped in seven by Marco Antonio Rubio and dropped a majority 12 round decision to Joachim Alcine but at the Bell Center in Montreal, Canada on Friday he took just 1.47 of the second round to knock out Zepeda, 14-6-1-(11). .
Lemieux worked behind a firm jab in the opening round before decking Zepeda with a straight right hand to the chin of Zepeda in the second. The Mexican managed to beat the count but Lemieux changed his tactics by going to the body and Zepeda went down again but was ruled a push. But the end was inevitable and Lemieux claimed his 25th knockout from 26 wins.
In the co main event heavyweight Oscar Rivas, 11-0-(6), won a 78-74, 75-77, 79-73 split decision over Sylvera Louis in a highly entertaining battle.
