Mike Sloan - Local sensation Jessie Magdaleno electrified the crowd yet again with another thrilling knockout win to kick start the main televised card inside the Wynn Las Vegas. After feeling out opponent Jose Silveira for a minute or so, Magdaleno picked up his pace and became more and more assertive as the round wore on. When Silveira charged forth with what was supposed to be a right hand, Magdaleno planted a perfect straight left hand on his face late in the frame.
The punch rocked Silveira, who then stumbled into the ropes. Magdaleno smelled blood and swarmed his wounded foe, unloading an array of punches from every angle. With about ten seconds left, Silveira had no choice but to drop to his knee, where referee Kenny Bayless counted him out. The official time of the knockout came at 2:59 of the opening stanza, awarding Magdaleno yet another eye-opening stoppage win.
There is plenty of buzz surrounding the Vegas prospect and with do right; he’s dominated everybody he’s faced thus far and at 12-0 with 9 KOs, it’s just a matter of time before Magdaleno steps up his level of competition. For his efforts, Silveira, from Merida, Mexico, dropped to 12-9 with 4 KOs.
