Former WBA interim weltyerweight champion Marcos Maidana (33-3, 30 KOs) stopped the outclassed Angel Martinez (13-4-1, 9 KOs) in the third round at the Estadio Luna Park in Buenos Aires, Distrito Federal, Argentina on Wednesday.
A body shot delivered by Maidana floored the Mexican for the full count to keep any hope of another world title fight very much alive.
