By Dmytro Mossienko at ringside; On 25 July, Ukraine’s Oleg Malinovsky from Elite box promotion won unanimous decision in his clash of characters with Belarus based Chechen Khavadzhy Khatsygov. The fight took place in Sport life sports club in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine.
Caught with flash punch in round one, Malinovsky took a knee in order to prevent further damage and did not have much problem with surviving the rest of the round. He mounted pressure in round 2 and further on. However, after the fight he admitted having trouble with landing clean punches as Khatsygov’s defense was very tight.
For Olympian Khatsygov this was third subsequent loss in last 10 months. The previous loss he received from the hands of another Ukrainian fighter, Timur Akhundov, in the 12 rounds clash for vacant WBF featherweight belt in April this year
