Lucas Matthysse, (33-2, 31 KO’s), took just 2.26 to knock out Mike ‘The Silent Assassin’ Dallas Jr (19-2-1-8 KO’s) at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday night. The thunderous right hand that flattened Dallas Jr left the American out cold on the canvas for some time.

The Argentine puncher retained his WBC light welterweight interim title.

On the undercard of the Showtime televised card light middleweight Jesus Soto Karass (27-8-3, 17 KO’s) won a hard fought a 10 round majority decision over German based Turk Selcuk Aydin (23-2, 17 KOs). The scores were 97-93, twice for Karass and an even 95-95.

In a light middleweight bout unbeaten Jermell Charlo (20-0, 10 KOs) scored an eighth round stoppage win over Harry Joe Yorgey (25-2-1, 12 KO’s). Charlo floored Yorgey twice in round two and relentlessly pursued Yorgey, who eventually dropped to one knee in round eight. The bout was stopped after 1:09.

Light middleweight prospect Errol Spence (3-0, 3 KO’s) took out Nathan Butcher (0-2) after just 0. 63 of the opening round.

In a super featherweight bout unbeaten Mexican Francisco Vargas made it 14 -0 when he banged out Ira Terry (26-11, 16 KO’s) with a right hand after 1:46 of the second round.

Unbeaten super welterweight Julian Williams (11-0-1, 6 KOs) scored a seventh round TKO over Jeremiah Wiggins (10-2-1, 5 KOs). The bout was waved off at 1:05 when Wiggins’ corner threw in the towel. Wiggins was given a standing eight count in round four.
