Miskirtchian Retains Euro Crown In Esbjerg


Alexander Miskirtchian retained his European featherweight title with a 12th round stoppage win over former world title challenger Andreas Evensen at the Blue Water Dokken in Esbjerg, Denmark on Saturday.

 

Miskirtchian floored Evensen in round three, but Evensen fought his way back into the fight. The end came when Miskirtchian decked Evensen again late in the 12th round, prompting English referee Howard Foster to step in and stop the bout after 2:23.

 

On the undercard unbeaten middleweight Patrick Nielsen made it 18 straight wins by clearly outscoring Patrick Mendy over 12 rounds.. Nielsen floored Mendy in round five on his way to a clear and unanimous 117-110, 117-111, 117-111 points win.

 

In a light heavyweight bout Erik Skoglund scored a spectacular second round knockout win over Attila Baran. A massive right hand floored Baran for the full count after 2:02.

 

Unbeaten featherweight hopeful Dennis Ceylan needed just 0.66 seconds of the opening round to demolish Marco Scalia.

 

at light heavyweight Josef Obeslo stunned the previously unbeaten Ismail Oezen to score surprise first round tko win in an upset.
