Unbeaten Roberto Ortiz won a five round majority technical decision over Fidel Monterrosa for the vacant WBC silver welterweight title on Saturday night at the Dome of the Municipal Palace in Tulum, Mexico.
Monterrosa was unable to continue due to a cut around his left eye caused by an unintentional headbutt and the bout went to the scorecards. The scores 56-56, 58-54, 58-54, all for Ortiz.
