Jerry Glick reporting from ringside: Uprising Promotions are one of the new guys on the block, but they got it right. They are slowly building a loyal fan base with ever improving shows in Long Island City, NY at the beautiful 5 Starr Banquet Hall. Their latest show had ten exciting fights in front of a packed house
Hawaiian Eileen Oszlewski, 111, put on a hum dinger with Queens, NY resident Patricia Alcivar, also 111. For the eight rounds that they fought it was non-stop action. Alcivar threw more punches but Oszlewski landed clean shots in return.
Alcivar would race across the ring at the bell and force Oszlewski to cover up but the Hawaiian former world champion would retaliate with an accurate left hook and then follow up with a combination.
In the sixth frame Oszlewski took the play away from her foe and landed a series of lefts and rights that connected with Alcivar’s face. By this point Alcivar began looking a little tired. In the next stanza Oszlewski took charge landing a dozen clean shot to Alcivar’s face causing a very bloody nose and swollen right eye. After landing more clean and hard punches to Alcivar’s damaged face referee Sparkle Lee called it off at 51 seconds of round eight. Oszlewski wins the vacant IFBA Flyweight belt making her a three time champion.
