
Thai challenger Kompayak Porpramook, 44-3-(30), scored a spectacular 10th round knockout win over Adrian Hernandez, 22-2-1-(14), to claim the WBC light flyweight crown at 11th Inf Reg in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday night.
Kompayak pressured Hernandez for the first two rounds, but Hernandez stepped up the pace in round three as Kompayak began to buckle under the constant pressure. The bout was evenly balanced as both took turns to gain the upper hand until Kompayak laid out Hernandez for the full 10 count after connecting with a peach of a a right hand.
In the joint main event for WBC flyweight title, champion Pongsaklek Wonjongkam, 83-3-1-(44), and challenger Hirofumi Mukai, 5-1, ended before after just 0.47 of the opening round when Mukai was cut by an unintentional head butt . The bout was declared a no contest.
