WBA super-bantamweight Scott Quigg successfully defended his title with a stunning second-round stoppage win over Tshifhiwa Munyai at thePhones 4U Arena in Manchester on Saturday.
Munyai, a late replacement after Nehomar Cermeno pulled out proved little resistance against an inform champion, who was superior in every department on the night.
Quigg made a tentative start, fighting at long range and working out his opponent before smashing in a massive left hook to the jaw of Munyai to send him crashing to the canvas towards the end of the round. Luckily for Munyai the bell for the end of the round sounded to save him.
However, Quigg came out in the second round just as aggressive and it was not long before a caracking straight jab and right decked the challenger for a second time.
Munyai again rose to beat the count but a further attack proved too much for the late notice opponent and the fight was rightly called off by referee Howard Foster.
