Gallo and Quijano battle in San Juan

David Quijano scored a 10 round points win over Javier Gallo at the Coliseo Pedrin Zorrilla in Hato Rey, San Juan, Puerto Rico on Saturday night.

 

Quijano floored Gallo in the tenth round to score 98-91, 98-91, 96-93 on all three judges cards

 

On the undercard lightweight Regino Canales scored a sixth round tko win over Edgardo Rivera.

JAVIER GALLO – 116 lbs. VS. DAVID QUIJANO – 115 lbs.
Tijuana, México (18-5-1, 10KOs) Caguas, Puerto Rico (14-2-1, 9KOs)
Quijano won by unanimous decision when the judges voted 98-91, 98-91 and 96-93 in a great fight. Gallo downed one time in the tenth round.

 

(135lbs – 6 Rounds)
EDGARDO RIVERA – 130 lbs. VS. REGINO CANALES – 134 lbs.
Arecibo, Puerto Rico (6-2, 5KOs) San Juan, Puerto Rico (4-2, 1 KOs)
Canales won by TKO when the referee stopped the fight at the start of the sixth round after the doctor checked Rivera’s right eye. Canales, who was down in the first round dominated the second, third, fourth and fifth round with his better boxing skills.

RADAMÉS VÉLEZ – 140 lbs. VS. RAFAEL GONZÁLEZ – 138 lbs.

Gonzalez won by KO at 1:44 of the second round when with a right punch knocked down Velez for the 10 count. Velez downed also one time in the first round.

Cruz won by unanimous decision when the three judges voted 38-37. Cruz was down in round one.

Santos won by unanimous decision when judges voted 40-36, 39-37 and 39-37.

JOSÉ SANTIAGO – 131 lbs. VS. IVÁN VÁZQUEZ – 130 lbs.
Vega Alta, Puerto Rico (1-1, KOs) Humacao, Puerto Rico (0-1-1)
Santiago won by KO at :34 seconds of the second round when a hard left upper sent Vazquez to the canvas for the 10 count.
