Ray Robinson blitzed Ray Nahr inside seven round to claim the vacant USBA welterweight title the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark, Delaware on Friday night.
Robinson, 17-2-(7), dropped Nahr twice in the seventh but Nahr managed to get to his feet but Robinson again went on the attack unloading a series punches forcing referee Malik Waleed to stop the bout after 2.33. Nahr drops to 26-3-(21).
In the co-feature, Samuel Kotey Neequaye, 21-0-(15), won the NABA lightweight title, scoring a 10 round unanimous points win over with “Dangerous” Dorin Spivey, 42-7,-(30). Spivey was decked briefly from a left hand early in round five, of a highly entertaining battle. The scores were 98-91, 97-92, and 96-93.
