World ranked junior featherweight Jhonatan Romero won a clear eight round unanimous decision over Adolfo Landeros at Doubletree Hotel, Ontario, California, USA on Friday night.
Romero, 21-0-12, proved too quick and for Landeros, snapping and landing the jab and straight right hands with impressive accuracy.Landeros, 20-24-2-(10), was almost out on his feet in the third round but he hung on to hear the final bell.
All three judges scored the bout for Romero, with scores of 80-71 twice and 80-72.
Rico Ramos, who was at ringside scheduled to face Romero next in a 10 round bout at the Sportman’s Lodge in Studio City, CA on June 22nd.
On the undercard welterweight Rigoberto Flores won a hard-fought six round unanimous decision over Pedro Arcos. Fllowing a slow start Arcos fought his way back in an entertaining back and forth battle. At the end of the bout all three judges scored the fight in favor of Flores, by scores of 58-56, 59-55, and a way out 60-54.
In a lightweight bout Sergio Nunez scored a first round knockout over Ramon Florest. The opening round was competitive Nunez landed a left hook to the head of Flores, flooring him against the ropes. Flores rose on shaky legs and tried to fight back but Nunez sent Flores to the canvas with a barrage of punches for a second time. Referee Raul Caiz Jr. immediately waved the fight over at 2:40.
