Former Middleweight title challenger Marco Antonio “Veneno” Rubio, 54-6-1-(47), scored a seventh round knockout win over the previously unbeaten Jorge ‘Demonio’ Cota, 12-1-(11), at the Coliseo Centenario in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico on Saturday night.
Rubio slowly broke Cota down before finishing him off after 1.49 of the seventh to win the IBF International middleweight title.
Rubio last fought in February when he lost to WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
On the undercard unbeaten light welterweight Robert “Massa” Ortiz scored a fifth round knockout over Abraham “Cholo” Gomez
