By Reginald Murrell at ringside Temecula California: Hector Serrano, 18-3 (6), of Perris California was never in trouble in a 8 round pounding of Rogelio Castaneda 26-17 (8) of Sacramento California.
The fans in attendance at Perchanga Resort Casino was treated to a drumming of Castaneda at the hands of fan favorite Serrano. In round one both fighters came out feeling each other out, but from round 2 until the last bell Serrano went to work hitting Castaneda with picture perfect right hands and lefts to the body. Unlike Castaneda, Serrano appeared comfortable as he unleashed a body shot that dropped Castaneda in the 2nd. Scores were 80-72,77-73,80-72 Serrano.
In a very entertaining 10 round IFBA Super Flyweight World Championship, Sindy Amador 11-1 from Riverside California put the pressure on Amaris Quintana 6-2 of La Mesa California. Amador, the faster of the two combatants finds herself fighting in reverse because of the pressure applied by Amador. It’s a classic battle of the slick boxer against the straight ahead power puncher, the power puncher came out on top. Amador was presented the IFBA Super Flyweight World Championship belt by Kim Messer-Caminschi, once the IFBA champion and now the IFBA Director of Boxing Operations.
Luis Hernandez 3-3 (2 KO), knocked out Roberto Duran in the 2nd round.
Diego Madrigal 2-0-1 (1KO) fought Cesar Martinez 4-1-1 to a draw
