Former WBC light flyweight champ Edgar Sosa, 46-7,-(27), scored a ninth round tko win over Shigetaka Ikehara, 22-3-2-(18), to retain his WBC silver flyweight crown at the Centro de Espectáculos de la Feria in León in Guanajuato, Mexico on Saturday.
It was a one sided affair for most of the bout and after eight round Ikehara’s handlers finally pulled their man out before the start of the ninth round.
In the co-main event super featherweight Miguel “Mickey” Roman, 38-10-(28), proved there is no substitute for experience by out-pointing the highly touted Dante “Crazy” Jardon, 20-3-(18), via by 10 round split decision.
