Taylor And Pedraza Win In St Charles

Former world middleweight champion, Jermain Taylor, 31-4-1-(19),scored a ferocious second round knockout against Michi Munoz, 23-7-(16) at the Ameristar Casino in St. Charles, Missouri on Friday night.

Taylor was the boss from the start and soon floored Munoz with an overhand right hand halfway through the opening round. Taylor wasted no time getting to work in the second round by landing a left and right hand on Munoz’ chin, flattening him for the full count after 1:05 of the second round. Munoz was stretched out on the canvas for a some time

On the undercard Puerto Rican prospect Jose Pedraza, 11-0-(7),scored an eighth round tko win over Tevin Farmer, 7-4-1-(1), stopping him after 0:47. Pedraza was always on the front foot, looking to pressure and that tactic paid off perfectly.Apart from a head butt in the eighth everything went to plan, Pedraza’s speed of hand and intense workrate ensured there was only one winner.

In a super middleweight Lamar Russ, 11-0-(7) stopped Jonathan Cepeda, 12-1-(11), after just 1:45 of round one. Russ pushed out the jab from the opening bell, looking to set up an attack. The plan worked perfectly when Russ landed a cracking left uppercut and then sent Cepeda to the canvas with a overhand right. Cepeda looked ok to continue but referee Mike England thought otherwise.
