Uchiyama, Sato And Kono Victorious In World Title Bouts


Undefeated WBA super-featherweight champ Takashi Uchiyama, 19-0-1-(16), impressively unified the 130lbs titles by defeating the previously unbeaten interim champ Bryan Vasquez, 29-1-(15), in Tokyo, Japan on Monday.

 

Uchiyama stopped Vasquez after 3:00 of the eighth round

 

On the same card fast punching Japanese boxer Yota Sato retained his WBC super-flyweight crown after winning a 12 round unanimous decision win over previously unbeaten Ryo Akaho The scores were 117-112, 117-111 and 118-110.

 

Japanese veteran Kohei Kono impressively won the WBA super-flyweight title by flooring defending champ Tepparith Kokietgym three times en route to an upset automatic knockout win after 2:08 of the fourth round
