Yamanaka And Martinez Retain World Titles In Osaka

Japanese southpaw, Shinsuke Yamanaka , 21-0-2-(16), retained his WBC bantamweight crown in Osaka, Japan on Wednesday night by destroying the normally durable Stephane Jamoye, 25-5-(15), On Wednesday.


The Belgium based boxer hit the deck four times, once in the second round, twice in the eighth and again after 0:11 of the ninth round.


In the co feature Kiko Martinez from Spain improved to 31-4-(23), blasted out former WBC champ Hozumi Hasegawa, 33-5-(15), after 1.20 of the seventh round. Hasagawa was down three times, once in the second round and twice in the seventh before the fight was eventually stopped.
