At the age of 36, veteran South African Morti Mthalane, 37-2-(25), retained his IBF flyweight title via 10th round retirement over Masahiro Sakamotom 13-2-(9),from Japan at the Wynn Palace Cotai, Macao in China on Monday.
Mthalane busted up the challenger until the ringside doctor advised the referee to step in and stop the battering at the end of the 10th round. The scores up until then were 100-90, 99-91 and 98-92.
